Does "Precipitation Total" mean for the day, or per hour?

I'm planning a camping trip this coming weekend, but I noticed the forecast now predicts rain. It says 1.2" on Sunday, but is this per hour, or over the whole day? I can't seem to find a concrete answer. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/swrightchoi [link] [comments]
