The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Southeastern Kane County in northeastern Illinois... Northeastern Kendall County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until 215 AM CDT.

* At 1117 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible

Flooding in DuPage, IL; Kane, IL; Kendall, IL can cut off roads with little warning, damage homes near low-lying areas, and disrupt power and water service. Even a few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle.
