The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... South Central Grand County in east central Utah... Northeastern San Juan County in southeastern Utah...

* Until 930 PM MDT.

* At 626 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across Kane Springs and Hunter Canyons. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Flooding in Grand, UT; San Juan, UT can cut off roads with little warning, damage homes near low-lying areas, and disrupt power and water service. Even a few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle.
