* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin and southwest Virginia, including the following county, Grayson.

* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 549 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

Flooding in Alleghany, NC; Surry, NC; Wilkes, NC; Yadkin, NC; Grayson, VA can cut off roads with little warning, damage homes near low-lying areas, and disrupt power and water service. Even a few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle.
