The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Elbert County in east central Colorado... Central Lincoln County in east central Colorado...

* Until 730 PM MDT.

* At 432 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Flooding in Elbert, CO; Lincoln, CO can cut off roads with little warning, damage homes near low-lying areas, and disrupt power and water service. Even a few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle.
