* Flash Flood Warning for... North Central Polk County in central Iowa... Southeastern Story County in central Iowa...

* Until 200 AM CDT.

* At 813 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen in some places. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area as additional rainfall moves

Flooding in Polk, IA; Story, IA can cut off roads with little warning, damage homes near low-lying areas, and disrupt power and water service. Even a few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle.
