By accessing or using Alert USA ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Alert USA is a crime tracking and mapping platform that aggregates publicly available crime data from:
- Puerto Rico Police Department databases
- 911 emergency dispatch centers
- Municipal reporting systems
- Emergency management agencies
- Verified news sources
3. Data Accuracy and Limitations
IMPORTANT: Crime data is provided "as is" from official sources and may contain:
- Delays in reporting (5 minutes to several hours)
- Inaccuracies in location or incident details
- Incomplete information due to ongoing investigations
- Technical limitations in data collection
4. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to use Alert USA to:
- Interfere with ongoing police investigations
- Harass, stalk, or target individuals or locations
- Spread false information or create panic
- Attempt to identify victims or suspects
- Use data for discriminatory purposes
- Reverse engineer or abuse the API
- Violate any local, state, or federal laws
5. User Responsibilities
- Verification: Verify information through official sources before taking action
- Safety First: Do not put yourself in danger to investigate incidents
- Respect Privacy: Do not attempt to identify individuals involved in incidents
- Report Responsibly: Only submit truthful information when reporting incidents
- Emergency Protocol: Call 911 for emergencies, not Alert USA
6. Intellectual Property
- Alert USA platform design and functionality are protected by intellectual property laws
- Crime data comes from public records and official sources
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission
- User-submitted content grants us license to use for service improvement
7. Privacy and Data Collection
- Our data collection practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy
- We collect minimal personal information
- Location data is used only for proximity alerts when enabled
- We do not sell personal information to third parties
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

Limitation of Liability
Alert USA and its operators shall not be liable for:

9. Service Availability
- We strive for 99% uptime but do not guarantee continuous availability
- Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or technical issues

10. User Content and Reporting

- All submissions must be truthful and accurate

- Alert USA is designed specifically for Puerto Rico
- Data coverage includes all 78 Puerto Rico municipalities
- Service may not be accurate outside Puerto Rico
- Legal jurisdiction is Puerto Rico and United States federal law
13. Age Restrictions
- Alert USA is intended for users 13 years and older
- Users under 18 should have parental supervision
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13
- Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's usage
14. Termination
- You may stop using Alert USA at any time
- We may terminate access for terms violations
- Termination does not affect previously granted licenses
- Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy guidelines
